Ba'er Miriam was founded nine years ago by Rebbetzin Rochayl Orbach.  Seeing a need for a different approach to learning, Rebbetzin Orbach created an educational environment and curriculum for girls who craved an intellectual and highly inspiring atmosphere.  Baer Miriam has prided itself on providing an all-around program geared to intense personal growth at each girl's own pace.

Here's what Ba'er Miriam alumnae have to say about our Administration:

Rebbetzin Rochayl Orbach-

Principal

"The Rebbetzin had an amazing way of always having the right words right when I needed them. Her advice and guidance throughout my time in Eretz Yisrael helped me grow and feel comfortable in my new environment. I always felt that she anticipated my needs before I even verbalized them, and was always more than willing to help me."

Rabbi Yehoshua Freilich-

Dean

"Rabbi Freilich’s presence can be felt when he is in the school building. He has a way of making other’s smile, and is a true role model for his way of exemplifying “Ivdu es Hashem B’Simcha.” I particularly loved his halacha class! He had a very special way of turning what could be somewhat dry into something beautiful and exciting."

Rabbi Levi Orbach-

Executive Director

"I don’t know where I would be without Rabbi Orbach!"

Mrs. Penina Merzel-

Shanna Bet Director

"Mrs. Merzel’s wisdom far surpasses her years. Her classes had a profound effect on the shaping of who I am and helped me grow closer to the person I’ve always wanted to become. She always makes herself available for those who need her, whether they know they need her or not. Mrs. Merzel’s complete devotion to Klal Yisrael is so truthful and inspiring, that anyone who crosses her path is a changed person. She is one of the hugest assets of Ba'er Miriam."

Mrs. Rivki Karp-

Mechanechet

"When I first met Mrs. Karp, I didn’t really think such a person could exist. How can one person be so happy every single day? Mrs. Karp is one of those people that you meet, and you just see someone you can always turn to. As a teacher, she’s amazing; she can take any topic and transform it into a kli to be a better eved Hashem."

Mrs. Netanya Mann-

Director Of Beit Midrash/Tutors

"What a wonderful role model. Netanya is a humble and true emesdik person. She tells you how it is in the most loving way. Netanya is a person that students love and look up to because they can relate to her. She tells of her own experiences and imperfections that we have to face, and how she dealt with them. In that way she gives us chizuk and comfort, knowing that it’s not only we who have these problems."

Mrs. Shira Lasry-

Office Manager/ Program Coordinator

"Shira Lasry lives in one-room, paper-scattered, phone-ringing place otherwise known as the office. If you need someone to answer three calls at once, Shira's the oen. Write an e-mail and send a fax at the same time, Shira can do it. Bargain with a sheirut driver while eating lunch, Shira can. Shira is a dedicated, kind, caring and loving person who truly keeps the Ba’er Miriam vehicle nice 'n oiled."

Mrs. Eve Levy-

Director of Extra-curricular Activities

"From challah-baking to shidduch-making, Eve Levy is a woman who just goes and goes for hours. She is kind and welcoming to everyone who visits her and always dedicates herself toward making seminary an experience filled with a whole lotta' love."

Other Key Staff:

Rakazot-

Between teacher and madricha, the rakazot are women to learn with, discuss issues, hang out at their homes and forge relationships.

Eim Bayit –

These select women handle not only social and practical living issues in the apartments, such as roommate issues, curfews and toranut, they also provide a shoulder to cry on over a healthy bowl of chicken soup.

Madrichot-

Providing above-and-beyond care, the madrichot are counselors who actually live among the girls, giving to them around the clock, from hydrating the girls on tiyulim, to providing comfort at 2 a.m., to helping the girls bring out their full potential.
